The Largest One-day WNC Arts Street Festival this Weekend in Asheville

May 21, 2016     Montford Music and Arts Festival    This is the largest one-day, free music and arts festival in Western NC - so large it's held on two streets: Montford and Soco.

Enjoy more than 100 vendors of art, crafts, plants and food along with two stages of non-stop entertainment with 20 performing music groups and a children’s area. The Festival is known for its many quality craft persons and artists who return every year to offer their wares. The special Juried Artists section exemplifies the degree of excellence you will find at the festival.

Located near the Asheville NC Visitors Center in Historic Montford with shady tree-lined streets and unique architecture, from turn of the century “Victorian” to Arts and Craft designs.  On street parking and a bike corral will be available. The event will be held rain or shine and admission is free.

NC Arboretum in Asheville Hosts Carolina Craft Day

September 28, 11 AM to 4 PM   Carolina Craft Day at the NC Arboretum   A day to celebrate Southern Appalachian traditions as they come alive at The North Carolina Arboretum. The event, now in its seventh year features craft demonstrations,  juried art and craft vendors and plant sales at the Arboretum's Education Center. 

Admission to Carolina Craft Day is free for members or with the parking fee of $8 per personal vehicle.

Last Chance to see the Blue Ridge Fiber Show at the North Carolina Arboretum

Now through January 2   Blue Ridge Fiber Show: Into the Gardens  at the North Carolina Arboretum. An international, biennial celebration of fiberarts Sponsored by The Western North Carolina Fibers/ Handweavers Guild, Inc. AN Opening Reception was held October 2 in the Education Center 2nd Floor Gallery.

The North Carolina Arboretum  includes magnificent gardens and miles of woodland trails. The Arboretum hosts continual special events and touring shows. Just as our experience of nature is intimate, visitors to The North Carolina Arboretum connect with plants in personal ways that are as diverse and rich as the land itself. Whether you enjoy strolling through gardens, exploring exhibits, enriching your mind or hiking and biking, the Arboretum offers activities for all age.
