The first, largest, and most walkable tour of working artists' studios in the region, the River Arts District Studio Stroll takes place in 19 historic buildings along the French Broad River.

River Arts District Second Saturday Asheville’s River Arts District Artists open their studios for a
day of family friendly fun, educational experiences, live demonstrations
and to share their creations. Visit dozens of artists working in all
types of media, available for viewing or purchase.
Asheville's River Arts
District is a truly remarkable place and a "must see" in Asheville. The District is
open year around for visitors to meet 150+ artists in their studios, browse craft galleries
and shops and stop to re-energize at one of the cafes or restaurants or the Brewery. Schedules
are available online. Twice a year, every second weekend in June and November,
Asheville’s River Arts District opens to the public for two days of festivities
known as the STUDIO STROLL. On SECOND SATURDAYS artists welcome you into
their studios to talk with them, see their latest artwork, watch demonstrations,
and experience for yourself the magic hidden inside the time-worn factories and

The Art of Business or the Business of Art Seminar

Mechanic Studios and Flood Gallery & Fine Arts Center, in
association with RiverLink, Self-Help Credit Union (SHCU) and the Small
Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), are pleased to
present:
"Shedding Light on the Business of Art: An Intensive One-Day Workshop on Business Basics for the Artists of the Watershed."
From 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Phil Mechanic
Studios will open their doors for this one-day-only, free seminar (with
lunch included) that will engage you in topics such as:
- Improving Your Credit Score
- Licensing, Registration with the State, and Legal Considerations
- Obtaining Funding
- Developing a Business Plan
- Growth Strategies
- Marketing, Pricing, Preparing a Professional Portfolio, and the Appropriate Use of Social Media
Each
topic will be discussed by a group of experts in the field and then
opened up for questions from the audience. In addition to members of
the four sponsor organizations, panelists will include, among others,
representatives from AB Tech's Small Business Center, Asheville Grown,
the City of Asheville, Eagle Market Street Development, Handmade in
America, Mountain BizWorks, the Natural Capital Investment Fund (NCIF),
OnTrack Financial Education and Counseling, SCORE, the Small Business
Administration (SBA), The Support Center, Venture Asheville and from
the consulting firm, Who Knows Art.
Two
special sessions will round out the day: one that will present two
artists in front of a select group of experts and give them the
opportunity to present issues/problems/needs facing their business and
receive feedback and a second that will wrap up the day with "success
stories" that will inspire and empower you.
Participating artists will include Sean "Jinx" Pace, Melissa Terrezza, Jeremy Russell, and others.

Odessey Center for Ceramic Arts Exhibits at Asheville's Folk Art Center
January 12 - April 21: Exhibition by the Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts at The Folk Art Center. Both sculpture and functional ceramics made by teachers and students at the Odyssey Center will be showcased in the Folk Art Center Main Gallery. Odyssey, located in the River Arts District of Asheville, is an educational center and member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild. Under the stewardship of Highwater Clays, The Odyssey Center "is a school and studio which promotes understanding, appreciation and professional development in the ceramic arts".
The Center includes a Gallery which exhibits new work by instructors, residents, members and student assistants. The Gallery serves to inspire and educate the community and ceramic students about the nature of clay and the variety of ways clay can be used, enjoyed and valued. Exhibits are continually changing and include five unique shows throughout the year.The Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts is located at 236 Clingman Avenue in the River Arts District of Asheville NC.

Broad River at Asheville's new summer concert series hosted by New
Belgium Brewing and RiverLink. The new concert series has quickly become one of the most enjoyable and "must do" summer events in Asheville.
There will be New Belgium beer, a variety of taste treats provided by favorite Asheville food trucks and the waters of the beautiful French Broad flowing right by the stage. Best of all, these events are FREE to the public. Bring your lawn chair and picnic basket and enjoy the view of the French Broad River.

River Arts District Celebrates Clingman Circle Enhancement

Clingman Circle Celebration and Ribbon Cutting A
celebration, a dedication, a representation and a completion in the River Arts
Distrtict. The gathering begins at 5:30 PM at the Hilliard and Clingman
intersection, followed by a ribbon-cutting at 6 PM for the recent completion of
the $1.2 million Clingman Avenue streetscape enhancement project.
Then the party moves down the hill into the River Arts District. Join Mayor Bellamy, community leaders and supporters for a celebration of the enhancement project in the River Arts District. Top the night off with a benefit, music and silent auction at the Grey Eagle for the "RAD ONE Neighborhood Benefit."

day hopping from studio to studio, stop for refreshment at one of the
many dining experiences including the District's brewery. 80 or more
artists will be open - just look for the open studio signs.
