Diana Wortham Theatre Presents "Mountain Heart"

November 9 at 8 PM the Diana Wortham Theatre, 2 S. Pack Square in Asheville NC - Mountain Heart, winners  or nominees of  Grammys, IBMAs, CMAs, ACMs, performs for one evening in Asheville NC.  Don't miss one of the most highly awarded and virtuosic acts in progressive bluegrass and American roots music in the world as they return to the Diana Wortham stage this week.

August 9    Biltmore Concert Series   Award-winning musicians perform on the South Terrace and on Biltmore's newest event venue - Diana at Biltmore, an intimate setting on the vista overlooking Biltmore House. This Concert features the Steve Miller Band.

Downtown After 5

July 20  Downtown After 5   The Asheville Downtown Association brings together some of the best musicians in the area and throughout the Southeast. Sol Driven Train and Common Foundation perform this month. The event is held at  Lexington Avenue and I-240.

This is a "green" event featuring  biodegradable food and beverage containers, staffed compost and recycling stations, a solar-powered main stage and a complimentary bike corral hosted by Asheville On Bikes.

River Music Concert Series on Friday the 13th

July 13    River Music Concert Series   Dance under the stars next to the beautiful French Broad River at Asheville's new summer concert series hosted by New Belgium Brewing and RiverLink.  The July 13 concert features  Bluegrass on the river with Sanctum Sully and special guests Bobby Miller & The Virginia Daredevils.

There will be New Belgium beer and a variety of food selections provided by your favorite Asheville  vendors with the waters of the beautiful French Broad flowing right by the stage. This is a FREE event, underwritten by sponsors.  Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the great view of the French Broad River.

The Swannanoa Gathering Begins Today at Warren Wilson College

July 8 - August 11 at Warren Wilson College, Swannanoa NC - Founded in 1991, The Swannanoa Gathering is Warren Wilson College's continuing education program of summer folk arts workshops held on the campus in the Swannanoa Valley on the outskirts of Asheville.

Each week offers a different instrument and/or musical style (Traditional Song Week, Celtic Week, Old-Time Week, Guitar Week, Contemporary Folk Week, Mando & Banjo Week, Fiddle Week). Public Concerts are offered at Kittredge Theatre at 7:30 PM throughout the Gathering.

Asheville's Downtown after 5 Features Space Capone

June 15 from 5-9 PM   Downtown After 5 The Asheville Downtown Association brings together some of the best musicians in the area and throughout the Southeast. This Friday Space Capone and The Secret B-sides will perform.

Inspired by 70’s funk, soul and R&B, Space Capone blends horns, electronics and a tight rhythm section to bring a modern twist to their music. The band’s energy and stage presence are sure to whip the crowd into a dancing frenzy. Asheville locals, The Secret B-Sides, mix old and new-school funk and R&B, making them a perfect opener for Space Capone.

To purchase alcohol attendees will need to show a valid picture ID and buy a $2 wristband. Proceeds from wristband sales for June’s event support Katy’s Kids. Katy's Kids works with MANNA FoodBank to provide in-need schoolchildren a backpack of food to take home for the weekend.

Blue Ridge Orchestra Pops Symphony Season Finale Tonight

May 5, 7:30 PM at the White Horse, 105C Montreat Road in Black Mountain NC - The  Season Finale Pops Concert will feature Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with UNCA jazz pianist Dr. William Bares, selections from the Phantom of the Opera, the musical Chicago, Broadway tunes, a Salute to the Big Apple and a selection from Mexico in honor of "Cinco de Mayo".

The Blue Ridge Orchestra ends its first season under the direction of Dr. Milton Crotts the way it began, with a rousing pops concert at the White Horse in Black Mountain. Tickets are $15 adults; $5 student and are available at the door or online.
