October 6 , 10 AM - 4 PM at the Western North Carolina Nature Center - Hey Day is the largest family event of the year at the WNC Nature Center. In addition to the usual favorite activities such as clogging demonstrations, live bands, food and hands-on activities, this year’s event will feature a special pumpkin painting contest, a blacksmith demonstration, and special animal encounters throughout the day.
This year, special performances will feature the Asheville Hoops Troupe; Haw Creek String Band; Eric Everett performing Animal Party, An Earth Rockin’ Musical Adventure; the Thunder Mountain Cloggers, and Professor Whizzpop!

The Western North Carolina Nature Center is Asheville’s wildlife park and features more than 250 animals native to the Southern Appalachians including cougars, red wolves, otters, birds of prey, black bears, and reptiles. It;s mission is to increase public awareness and understanding of all aspects of the natural environment of Western North Carolina through hands-on and sensory experiences.
