LEAF Downtown Returns to Asheville NC this Weekend

July 30 - 31, 2016     Annual LEAF Downtown AVL   Celebrate community, creativity, diversity, and family in the heart of downtown Asheville NC in Pack Square Park. 

Enjoy two days filled with music, art, workshops, great food and drinks and a variety of family activities all with an emphasis on local talent. 

Event hours are 8/1, Noon - 10 PM and 8/2 10 AM - 6 PM. The 5K LEAF Art Dash begins at 9 AM and travels through downtown and surrounding areas while roaming artists perform on the sidelines.

Asheville Downtown Association Holds Annual "State of the Downtown"

January 20, 2016 - The Annual Sate of the Downtown Luncheon, presented by First Bank will be held on Wednesday, January 20 beginning at noon in the US Cellular Center Banquet Hall. The program will focus on the association's strategic plan as well as the top priorities and challenges facing downtown in the upcoming year.

The ADA will also present the 2015 Downtown Heroes Awards to individuals or organizations who have significantly impacted Downtown Asheville NC. Tickets are $12 for members and $15 for potential members and include lunch. This event typically sells out. Tickets are available online.

Asheville's Downtown After Five Music Concert Series Kicks Off this Friday

May 17   Downtown After Five   Asheville's Free live music entertainment in downtown begins its 2013 season this weekend. The celebration is every third Friday, May through September, with the goal of encouraging locals and visitors alike to enjoy downtown Asheville and support local businesses and entertainers. 

The event is located on North Lexington Avenue (between Hiawassee and the I-240 overpass). Food and beer vendors will be available.

Easter Weekend Events: Easter on the Green in Asheville

March 30 - Easter on the Green  An annual FREE family-friendly event in the heart of downtown Asheville. Traditional activities include age-specific Easter egg hunts, races, giant inflatables, music, entertainment, giveaways and more.

Children can meet the Easter Bunny and receive a golden egg filled with a prize. A professional photographer will take a family photo that can be downloaded for free.

JingleFest in Downtown Asheville

November 17   Downtown JingleFest   An afternoon of free fun and entertainment from 1 - 4 PM at Roger McGuire Green in Pack Square Park, downtown Asheville. Get an autograph from an Olympic athlete, get a close look at Window World’s custom silver St. Jude Dream Bike, enjoy a special performance by Asheville High School’s Marching Band, and be entertained by dance troupes from the Parade, jugglers, singers and more.

Once Santa makes his way through the Parade, he and Mrs. Claus will be at JingleFest so all the boys and girls can tell Santa what they want for Christmas. There will be a bounce house and other inflatables to keep the young kids busy while they’re waiting, too. Plus hot cider and goodies, and some good old-fashioned caroling.
