Downtown After Five this Weekend

August 21, 2015   Downtown After Five   Free live music entertainment in downtown Asheville NC.  The celebration is every third Friday, May through September, with the goal of encouraging locals and visitors to enjoy downtown Asheville and support local businesses and entertainers.  

The event is located on North Lexington Avenue (between Hiawassee and the I-240 overpass). Food and beer vendors will be available.

DID YOU KNOW???  This is a GREEN event - Downtown After Five features a solar-powered stage, complimentary bike corral, compostable food and beverage containers, and staffed recycling and compost bins. The number of bags of non-recyclable trash has been reduced to just a few. What can you do at YOUR event???

The First Annual Green Swan Fest Today at Warren Wilson College

June 2, 11 AM - 9 PM at Warren Wilson College, 701 Warren Wilson Road in Swannanoa, NC. The Green Swan Fest is  a full day of music with local and national performers on the main stage. There's something for the entire family with both children's events and environmental activities, plus raffles for great door prizes, local food trucks and micro-brews.

The event celebrates and encourages the work of Asheville GreenWorks, a local environmental non-profit, working diligently for 38 years to "clean & green" Buncombe County.

Winter Hoop House Production "Short" Workshop Tomorrow

Winter Green has quite a number of things growing right now, and they'd like to show and encourage others how they themselves can do it. This is a great opportunity to share your favorite soup and meet your Slow Food community of friends. Paper products will be available, but we ask that everyone bring a bowl and spoon. We will have our new bumper stickers for sale and would greatly appreciate donations to offs the cost of paper products and use of space. Slow Food Asheville throws a Pot Luck

September 7 from 5PM-7PM, Carrier Park, 219 Amboy Road, Asheville NC. Asheville will be one of more than 200 communities hosting “Eat-Ins“ on Labor Day, Sept. 7, 2009. Asheville’s Eat-In will be at Carrier Park Picnic Shelter, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm.
