November 15-17 at Asheville Community Theatre, 35 East Walnut Street in downtown Asheville NC - Hobson's Choice. This ACT performance is a lighthearted comedy set in Victorian England with a surprisely playful feminist message. A domineering father puts his three daughters to work in his shoe shop while he gallivants around town. He dismisses his oldest daughter as an old maid without any future but she turns the tables on him to give him a real run for his money.
Written by Harold Brighouse and directed by Arnold Sgan the play is performed as a part of The Autumn Players' Readers Theatre Showcase Series. Note: Friday and Saturday performances are held in 35below at Asheville Community Theatre; Sunday performance is at the Reuter Center on UNCA’s campus.
