Slow Food Asheville Event: Franny's Farm Fest

June 8, from 10:00 AM - 10:00PM - Franny's Farm Fest is an all day festival benefit to establish a Future Farmers of America Chapter at Asheville High School. Enjoy LIVE MUSIC - FOOD - CRAFTS - FARM ANIMALS - FUN

This Family Friendly day is filled with live music starting at 11 AM.  Pierce Edens will be playing at 7:00 PM

Franny's Farm was founded in 2012 by Jeff, Frances and Zach Tacy and is located at 38 Came Sharp Road in Leicester, NC ( a suburb of Asheville). In addition to growing the very best in organic meats and vegetables they will be hosting a variety of events and providing a venue for educational opportunities. 

NC Beer Month Event: Learn to Grow Hops this Weekend

April 13    Learning to Grow Hops at Hop 'n Blueberry Farm   Learn to grow hops on a tour of Hop 'n Blueberry Farm, a 165-year-old farm that has always used sustainable farming practices. This special hop tour is specifically designed to give the visitor detailed information on how to grow hops and set up a hop yard.

Hop'n Blueberry Farm is located at 24 Middle Mountain Road in Black Mountain, NC.

Open House at Hickory Nut Gap Farm

January 19  Hickory Nut Gap Farm Open House Open from 10 AM - 5 PM with a farm tour at 1 PM. Come learn about the inner workings of Hickory Nut Gap Farm. See the cows, pigs, berries, mushrooms and apple orchards. Sample some of the cured meats and other local goodies. The Farm operates a store open from 10 AM - 5 PM, Tuesday - Saturday.

The Farm is located at 57 Sugar Hollow Road, Fairview (between Asheville and Chimney Rock) NC.
